Howdy Chef Cao's,
My name is Minaal and I have the privilege of serving on the Finance Committee of Texas A&M Health Science Center’s Disaster Day. I am writing this letter to see if Chef Cao's would be willing to donate food or give a discount on food for one of our meetings. We have meetings coming up once a week until February 15th that we will be providing food for about 40 committee members in attendance. The remaining dates are:
January 21, January 28, February 4, and February 11.
If there is any way possible for tomorrow's meeting Jan 14, it would be greatly appreciated.
We would graciously accept anything Chef Cao's is willing and able to donate! Please contact me back for additional attachments explaining what Disaster Day is and our 501(c)(3) tax ID form. I look forward to hearing from you!
Thank you,
Minaal Farrukh

The food took more than 35 minutes to get here and the restaurant is less than 1 mile away. I’m addition, the food was cool to look warm. The fried wontons were not edible because the outer coating was hard as a rock. The fried shrimp’s coating was hard, as well. Overall, I wasted $25 on a meal I could not eat. I will never order from Chef Caos again. I wish I could get my money back.
Sincerely, Lisa Whitt

Hi,I had recently made a complaint with Grubhub about an order with Chef Cao's, regarding the cruel and outright poisonous extent of oil in the food that we received. What shocked me more, was that your restaurant could reply with such negligence, and try to put the blame on us for requesting high spice levels. If your spice scale is out of 5, then you give us 5. It doesn't mean you add so much oil until the the food is only worth throwing away.Trust me when I say that we threw almost $40 of food down the bin that day. It was extremely disappointing, considering the food was inedible, and would have made us all sick the next day if we had even tried it.I find it hard to understand how you can be so insensitive in such cases, and try to find excuses for why the food turned out that way.I request you to be more responsible in dealing with such issues.

After a couple disappointing deliveries from Joy Luck, I decided to give this place a try. I ordered the Mongolian beef dinner special, with fried rice, hot and sour soup, and a crab puff, and a side of pork dumplings. The crab puff was fine, typical crab puff with sweet and sour on the side.Pork dumpings are good, rather large, and came on a little bed of cabbage. I really appreciate that small touch. They were a little soggy, but my apartment tends to be hard to find so I imagine they aren't so soggy if you eat in.I received egg drop soup instead of hot and sour. I tend to find egg drop soup bland, and this was no exception. But, it had a large amount of egg, and a couple peas and carrot bits, and was good with a bit of rooster sauce.I was really impressed when I opened up the container with fried rice and Mongolian beef. I was expecting the rice to be a small side, but there was rice in both of the small back compartments. It was your typical fried rice, nothing special. The beef took up almost the whole large compartment in the front, and was not oily or tough. It had a little kick - not super spicy, but good!Overall, I really enjoyed the food. Delivery was a bit slow, but that is perhaps partly due to my location. Good prices, large portions, and decent, typical Chinese delivery.

Hadn't eaten here in awhile so decided to give it a shot for lunch. What I had was quite good, but very very greasy....much greasier then I remember the typical Chinese food being. The vegetables were fresh and crisp though, and the pork was a nice traditional Asian cut...pork belly I think. The price was a tad high IMO for lunch, but not outrageously so.While it was perfectly nice, it was not so much so that it made me want to switch from my two favorite Asian places in town Ohana and Lanna Thai. That said, I'll try a few more of the more "Chinese" (and less "American") items on the menu, esp. if they have an "off the menu" menu for native speakers (I'm not one, I just prefer what they eat...lol).

Chef Cao's is the worst Chinese restaurant in town. Their meals don't actually include rice - every other Chinese restaurant in town includes rice when you order an entree. So, I'm sitting here boiling my own rice. If you add the cost of buying rice from them, they end up being more expensive than the other restaurants in town. They did not include a plastic container for the food either (like the other local restaurants do). My Mongolian beef is currently sitting in a cardboard delivery box while I'm cooking my own rice.I also ordered two egg rolls. One of their egg rolls is about half the size of the egg rolls from Joy Luck Delivery. It is not worth the trouble to order from this restaurant. They need to stop being so stingy with the food and realize that they are competing with other better restaurants.Oh, and reading the other reviews here, it appears they regularly fail their health inspections. In short, I am incredibly dissatisfied. I will not order from them again. No one else should order from them either. They need to go.

Chef Cao's has been shut down twice in the last couple of months for health reasons. First for roaches and then for using an unapproved product to kill them. The sign on the door says that the place is closed for "remodeling." One star may be too generous.

I really like this restaurant. My roommate first had me come here a couple years ago, and I thought the place looked a little off. They have pretty bad decor, and the outside leaves a lot to be desired. However, after eating there, I was really surprised. The food is really cheap which is what any college student wants. The food also comes out super quick. I think the longest I've ever waited for food was 15 minutes when I was with party of 8. The food is also really good. It is very Americanized, but all my Asian friends still really like it. It has free delivery too! I highly recommend it.

NOTORIETY: NoneFOODSauteed Ho Fun w/ Beef: Reasonable amount of tender beef. Decent flavor for the flat rice noodles. Kind of reminds me of what I had in LA. However, I wish it was drenched in sauce.OVERALL: Not the best Chinese restaurant in B/CS, but one of the few places that sells the flat rice noodle dish.TIPS1. This restaurant was recommended to me by a friend, but overall I was not impressed. I did love the option to order online, but never received a text or call when my food was done. As for the food, the eggroll was good but cold, the egg drop soup was quite bland and scalding hot, the fried rice just meh, and the beef and broccoli tasty, but the beef was tender to the point of being a little disturbing. It also made me a bit sick. I won't be going back.
